Poor and Inadequate Washroom Facilities for Drivers. I am very disappointed with the basic facilities provided for drivers at this hotel. Even though this is a 4-star property charging high room rates, the arrangements for drivers are not up to the mark. The washroom given for drivers is extremely small. It is very difficult to even stand properly inside, and taking a bath comfortably is almost impossible due to the lack of space. Also, the bathing water does not drain properly. The water gets collected on the floor, and we are forced to stand in the same dirty water while taking a bath. It feels very unhygienic and unpleasant. The washroom is not maintained properly, and it was quite disgusting to use. Drivers bring your guests safely to your hotel and work long hours on the road. They also deserve clean and decent facilities. I kindly request the management to improve and upgrade the washroom facilities to match the standard and image of the hotel.
Trust me, this is one of the best properties to stay at. The hospitality and service were truly amazing and set a benchmark for other properties. Every staff member was warm, polite, and extremely helpful throughout our stay. The overall experience felt very comfortable and welcoming. Really appreciate the entire team for making the stay so pleasant and memorable. Highly recommended!
We had one of our best holidays in this property. From the front office, Leona booking our car for pick up to Britto, Anandh and team taking such good care of each of our meals - we felt so much at home. The quality of meals needs another review as it was outstanding by Chef Ramalingam. He comes around every meal checking with everyone on the food quality! Highly recommend this property for a relaxed holiday. The rooms are large and well maintained. Great property in Coonoor.
Absolutely charming place ! The dates we went, it was not full and we really enjoyed the quietness and the open space. All the rooms are apparently not exactly the same. The one we got was spacious and well furnished. There is no air-conditioning - and I couldn't actually believe that it's not needed in Coonoor even in April. The restaurant is lovely. The menu is wide and the taste and service was superb. Do try the local dish (Avare udhakka and Gaasu dhotti). The chef Ramalingam is versatile and arranged an appropriate take away when we checked out early in the morning. There are plenty of restaurants, bakeries, shops near by and evening walks are nice experience. Other sight seeing places are not far either. They also arranged a bonfire in the garden area. Each of the staff members - reception, restaurant, housekeeping, driver were very polite and helpful. Overall, a pleasant stay and a classic Taj experience.
We had a wonderful stay at Gateway Coonoor. The warmth and hospitality provided to us throughout our visit is commendable. A special mention to Mr. Sathish, the Front Office Manager, for ensuring everything was smooth and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Chef Ramalingam delighted us with exceptional food, and every meal felt homely and thoughtfully prepared. We would also like to thank Mr.Shafi from the F&B team, along with Anand and Brito from the restaurant, who went above and beyond to make our experience truly memorable. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and genuine care made a lasting impression on us. It’s because of such incredible people that our stay felt so special, and it has definitely made us want to come back again. Thank you once again to the entire team for an unforgettable experience!
